Description

6.5x54 Mannlicher Schoenauer Bolt Action Rifle from Steyr. An Original Classic Rifle in Their Own Classic Calibre!
JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THIS LINK FROM WIKIPEDIA (and DO support and donate via the option in the left hand columns). They don’t ask for any more than you can comfortably afford and it is a GREAT source of information to those who shoot.

If this does nothing to stir interest you have to be in that long box with handles on the side!
I know the same blurb is on other rifles but I have three of these in original 6.5mm to choose from at the time of listing, this the second as follows:
As close as original condition as likely to find unless someone has had one tucked away in a cupboard for many years! The straight grained stock measures in at a 14 5/8” pull and is standard configuration for these rifles with the raised cheek piece. A little unusual is the ebony forend tip but this is likely a later edition. Only point to detail are a couple of marks to the stock, the worst of which are shown in the pictures and consists of a series of low level lines / dents to the right hand side, just behind the chequering to the grip. Nothing massive and would likely all but lift out.
Metal work is all in excellent condition throughout. Barrel comes in at a standard 22 ½” and retains the original iron sights with ramp mounted front bead and twin rear ‘V’ notch blades mounted on a fixed barrel ring. The folding blade detailed at 300 yards with the standard 100 yard fixed.
Something a little different from the normal is the stamp proudly displaying the words ‘NOT ENGLISH MADE’ to the chamber area. Other than that the usual front receiver ring details of Made in Austria. Patent, Mannlicher Schoenauer M.1903. The rifle is as original with no sign of scope mount or anything else. The detachable rotary magazines on these rifles are worth mention in their own right. I keep detailing just how good the engineering and design is on these rifles and if you take a look at one of the magazines, let alone the rifle, you will start to understand.
This rifle came in from the same collection as a number of others being listed and has also been through reproof recently so should offer many years of good shooting. Overall weight of the bare rifle is 7 lbs 2 oz.
