B25 B5.3 Special Sporting 206, 12mm rib, U 1/8, O 1/4, slim tulip fore end, pistol grip, 362mm stock, 39.5mm drop combe, 63.5mm drop heel, 4mm cast, chequered trigger, 3.45kg.
Thanks to Greenfields of Salisbury for gauging the chokes today 17th October 2018
Built and proofed in 1980 (denoted by PM within serial number) and purchased by me in 1992 from a local Browning approved dealer (AD). The specification, bar the choke modifications, is as it left the factory. It is in super condition for its age. I have always understood, from the AD, the wood to be Canadian Walnut which is nicely grained and dark. Minor barrel blacking marks where the fore-end slides along. The action is still tight, release the top lever and the breach face moves about 25mm when barrel are unsupported. Beautifully engraved by J Pirotte and A Maloir with Pointers, oak tree foliage and fine scroll.
Brownings 1984 safety catch recall was carried out by my local gunsmith in 1992 (documented). This modification prevents the catch being moved across when in the OFF position.
While owned by me it has probably only fired 750 cartridges.
The B25 B5.3 model ceased production many years ago and is rare to find in this condition.
Hopefully it is priced to sell but I may consider close offer(s).
The obvious: Collection by cert holder only, for security reasons I must limit viewing to one person within my house and no price haggling during viewing.
Payment by cash is preferred or Bank Transfer with cleared funds before removal of any part.
