BROWNING 12G OVER AND UNDER SHOTGUN.             

Browning B125 Grade C 12 Gauge Over and Under Shotgun. The grade C guns have fully Hand Engraved actions, this one signed G. Mareshal with depictions of Pheasants in flight to the left side and Ducks to the right. The shoulders, top lever, safety base plate and forend iron are also suitably adorned to match.

The 30” (760mm) barrels have the usual  2 ¾” (70mm) chambers and multi choke. A set of 5 chokes comes with the gun too. The gold washed trigger is just about out of gold but given the gun dates to a 1986 production there is little wonder. Adjustable for pull length it is currently set at 14 5/8” (370mm).

Highly Figured and Decorative stock has some excellent dark cross grain shadow too. Finished with Fine Cut Chequering at 24 lines per inch. Extra fine chequering like this is generally only found on guns to match as it is harder to do. The original Browning butt plate is also still there. This is a Sporting version with a ½” (12mm) ventilated top sight rib set with a single white sight bead.

These older examples (many consider better) are getting harder and harder to find, especially in good condition. For anyone unfamiliar with these guns the Schnabel Forend actually attaches to the barrels. Releasing the catch allows the forend to slide forward and then the barrels will detach. As such the usual light rub marks to the barrel finish are present just to the front of the wood. The gun weighs in at 7Lbs 15oz (3.585Kg) with an overall length of 47” (1195mm).
